                                                         Happy Mahashivratri 2021:

Auspicious festival of Mahashivratri today, send greetings to loved ones and well wishers

Chaturdashi of Phalgun month is kept on Maha Shivaratri fast. Mahashivratri is considered more important than monthly Shivaratri. It is considered to be the biggest Shivaratri. This time Mahashivratri is being celebrated today i.e. on 11 March

Many people believe that on this day, Lord Shiva and Shakti met. At the same time, it is also mentioned in some stories that on the Chaturdashi of Falgun month, Shiva appeared as Divine Jyotirlinga. Know here about the mythology related to Mahashivaratri, which tells about the importance of this day.

First story

Once at the beginning of the creation, there was a dispute between Brahmaji and Vishnu about the superiority. During this dispute, a fire pillar appeared and the Akashvani stated that whoever knows the beginning and the end of this pillar will be called the best. Brahma, the creator of the universe, and Vishnu, the follower of the world, both tried to know the beginning and end of this pillar for ages, but could not know. Then Lord Vishnu, accepting his defeat, requested the fire pillar to reveal the secret.

Then Lord Shiva said that both of you are the best, but I am a great God beyond the beginning and the end. After this, Lord Vishnu and Brahma worshiped that fire pillar and it turned into a divine Jyotirlinga. The day this incident happened, it was Chaturdashi of Falgun month. Then Shiva said that whoever does my fasting and worshiping on this day, all his sufferings will be removed and desires will be fulfilled. Since then, this day was celebrated as Mahashivratri.

Second story

There is also a belief that on the day of Mahashivratri, Shiva appeared in the world as 64 Shivalinga. In the world, people were able to find only 12 of their Shivling, which are worshiped as 12 Jyotirlingas.

Third story

According to the third story, Goddess Parvati and Shiva were married on this day and Shiva entered the household life with disinterest. As a celebration of the union of Shiva and Shakti, on the day of Mahashivaratri, devotees observe this festival by fasting and worshiping and receiving the blessings of Shiva and Shakti.
